On Tuesday, October 30, the five finalist in this year’s Euro-toques Young Chef of the Year competition met for a pop-up tasting in Dublin. Each finalist, aged between 18 and 26, was asked to prepare a meal for the day’s tasting that highlighted a producer from within 50 miles (80km) of where they are based. The dishes included very creative choices such as make-your-own quail lollipops with pop rocks and a baked potato in a shot glass.
The competition has since concluded with a final skills test and another pop-up event: a five-course dinner provided by the chefs.
